Top Attributes of the All-New Ford Explorer

A legend in the world of SUVs, the Ford Explorer is fully redesigned for 2020 with a sporty new design, increased accommodations for passengers and cargo, and a long list of standard and available features. It's easily the most exciting Explorer to date and it's available now at Muzi Ford. Here's a quick look at a few of our favorite Explorer attributes:

Potent Power

The Explorer may be large, but it gets up to speed quickly and easily thanks to a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 300 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. If you're looking for even more powertrain potency, Platinum models are powered by a turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 that makes 365 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque. The performance-inspired ST trim features a more powerful version of the same engine, boosting output to 400 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque.

Rear-wheel drive is standard, improving handling and performance over front-wheel drive systems, and providing a maximum tow rating of 5,000 pounds.

Ample Accommodations

The Explorer offers comfortable seating for up to seven riders. Or, you can select second-row captain's chairs which reduces seating to six but increases convenience and comfort. With all seats in use, there's still nearly 20 cubic-feet of space for cargo, and the 50/50-split third row folds down to increase capacity to 48 cubic-feet. If you're facing a day of extra-large errands, you can fold down all the rear seats to reveal a maximum cargo capacity of 88 cubic-feet.

Standard Safety

While you don't need to have children to enjoy the versatility, spaciousness, and features of the new Ford Explorer, families will definitely appreciate the inclusion of advanced driver-assistance technologies as standard equipment. Equipped at the base level, the Ford Co-Pilot360 safety suite includes:

  • Automatic Emergency Braking with Pre-Collision Assist
  • BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert
  • Auto High-Beam Headlamps
  • Rear View Camera
  • Lane-Keeping System

Additional driver aids, like Evasive Steering Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control, are available via the optional Co-Pilot360+ package.
